Run periodic tasks from system cron set to "No:
The text directions for that is not clear since it uses off/on for the comment and yes/no for the setting.
You need to set it to yes to use system cron, if it's set to no phpBB runs it.
One easy way to tell if it's being run is if you have a forum with prune activated.
